Wrappers are effectively an investment platform wrapped in an insurance policy. Typically used by UK expatriates to enable a tax advantage if and when they eventually return to the UK (tax deferred income).

However these Wrappers, issued by such companies as RL360 & Utmost (previously Quilter International & Old Mutual),  are very sophisticated platforms in their own right, they are well regulated in their related vicinities. They effectively compete with the stand-alone platforms on costs too.
