Is this committee in any way fit for purpose? No “Real business” experience
All Academics or Bank civil servants with almost no commercial (real private business) experience, no CEO’s (or Ex) of major Corporate institutions, no entrepreneurs?
Can we rely on these people to be knowledgable about the country’s needs for competative interest rates?
Why is it that The EU’s ECB rate is 2% where as the BOE rate is 100% more at 4%?
Can our UK Company’s compete with Europe’s companies with a base rate 10% higher than the EU’s?
Why are bank shares at all time high’s (in USA and UK) because of the Fed and BOE decision to keep rates artificially high.
Given the above does anybody believe the BOE is independent and unbiased in setting interest rates, as it claims ?
